Please be aware that some products have different return time limits and exceptions when you change your mind. For specific return requirements and for information on how to return a product please refer to the relevant section below.

What is your returns and refunds policy in store?

Change of mind – 28 day in store returns policy

Sometimes you can buy something and when you get home, it’s “just not quite right”. We understand this. As such we offer our customers a 28 day returns policy, however in order to take advantage of this extended right to change your mind the product you return must be returned to store:

(a) in resalable condition;

(b) in the supplied packaging;

(c) if part of a multi-part set, with all parts of the multi-part set; and

(d) with the returns form enclosed with the product.

Please ensure you bring proof of purchase with you when returning any product to store.

What is your returns and refunds policy for faulty Products?

Faulty products – your legal rights

During the expected life of your product, your legal rights entitle you to the following:

(a) up to 30 days: if your product is faulty, then you can get a refund.

If you have a faulty product covered by these rights then, to receive your refund simply return your product to store along with a valid receipt.

Extended warranty service for products

Certain products may be offered with warranties which extend your rights to obtain repairs or replacements for the products from anything to 12 months to 3 years.

As such, if your product has a warranty, which falls outside Checkout’s 28 day return period, and is faulty, then the fastest way to rectify the problem is to contact the manufacturer’s helpline for assistance and an experienced operator will take you through your options.

There is an information plate on the back of many of our products that gives you all the details you need to get in touch with the manufacturer.

Please keep your receipt handy when you call the helpline operator.

Are any products excluded from the returns and replacements policy?

We aim to help all our customers solve their issues. However in our returns policy we have a few exceptions. Underwear, earrings and other pierced jewellery can’t be returned or replaced under ‘change of mind’ due to hygiene guidelines. Similarly, chilled and frozen food (meat, poultry and fish) are all non-returnable under ‘change of mind’ due to the chill/freeze chain being broken. We also wish to inform our customers that the following items are also non-refundable;  baby food and milk, fireworks, entertainment items where the seal is broken, personalised / bespoke items, gift cards, pre-wrapped/ boxed gifts, e top-ups, lottery tickets & scratch cards, costumes and fashion accessories, fresh flowers, helium filled balloons and silk flower lari and garlands. 

How long will my refund take to clear in my account?

Once we have received your returned item(s) at the store, we will issue a refund to the payment card you used to pay for your order. Refunds are processed the next working day however it may take up to ten working days to be shown in your account, depending on your card issuer.

Can I return an item with no receipt or labels?

You must have proof of purchase to return items purchased in store.

What do I do if I need to return a gift purchase?

Checkout Superstore Ltd. is only able to refund to the person that placed the original order. Therefore, if a recipient decides to return any products to us, we’ll give the refund to the payee. Due to this, we advise customers that have received a gift to speak to the person who bought them the gift to arrange the return. Checkout Superstore Ltd. does not disclose any details of the customer that placed the original order.

Can I return an item that was reduced when I bought it?

Yes, but If you purchased at an offer price, your refund will be based on that promotional price. If you are returning items that were purchased on a promotion, such as ‘Buy one get one half price’ or ‘3 for 2’, then the promotion will no longer apply and your refund value will be adjusted accordingly.

Any Checkout Family Card points on a returned item that you bought in-store will be deducted from your account.
